Overseas Pakistanis often face issues with their properties in Pakistan. 

To Whom and how overseas Pakistanis can complain when they face any property related difficulty. 


Both federal and provincial governments have made multiple forums to help overseas Pakistanis.

Punjab overseas Pakistanis commission was established in 2014.

Over its website an online portal is available to make complain from any part of the world.

First of all you get yourself register on commission's website and prove yourself an overseas Pakistani. For this you need to upload pictures of foreign passport or Residence permit, National identification card for overseas Pakistanis. Once registered put-up your complain along with relevant available documents. You have an option to appoint a person to represent you where your presence is required.

Common complains of overseas Pakistanis are: 

* Their properties are illegally occupied.

* They are deprived of their land by preparing fake documents.

* Less valuable properties are left for them and relatives in Pakistan takes more valuable properties.

* Similarly overseas Pakistanis who invest in Pakistan and purchase properties find out later that they have been cheated by housing society or private individual.

*Often they rent out their properties and they stop paying the rent.

 These are some examples, after registration of complain an officer is appointed to deal with your complain. He decides whether to send complain to relevant department or to district committee.



District committee is formed in each district, chairman of it is a member of parliament, DCO is vice chairman, district police officer is also part of this committee along with two members from public.

Most of complains are sent to committee and then they forward it to concerned department or themselves deal with it.

This committee calls the person who is accused of committing fraud and ask him to submit his reply.

Target time to solve complain is one month. Progress on your complain is uploaded on the portal to keep complainant updated.


After hearing both parties and looking in to documents the committee gives its decision and also executes it.

It is a great facility given to overseas Pakistanis where without coming in to Pakistan they get their issues resolved.

Overtime amendments are made in the act to give more power to this department so complains can be resolved swiftly and those who approach courts to stop department from proceedings can not do so now until decision is taken by this department.

A complain is only marked as resolved when complainant gives satisfactory remarks.
